A Trailblazer for Higher Education: College of Engineering Professor to Receive the Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Medal for Supporting Biological and Agricultural Engineering Learning

Utah State University Professor and Associate Dean Deepak Keshwani will receive the Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Medal from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers at the society's annual meeting in Indianapolis in July.

This award signifies outstanding dedication to engineering and technology education relevant to biological and agricultural systems, and is one of three gold medals awarded to recognize the highest achievement by society members.

"It is an honor to be recognized by my peers," said Keshwani. "I'm really thankful to be part of ASABE, which values the importance of educating the next generation of engineers and technology professionals."

Keshwani is a nationally recognized expert in engineering and technology education, student success and has received numerous teaching and advising awards.

His illustrious career and experience include his Ph.D. in biological and agricultural engineering, with a minor in mathematics from North Carolina State University. He also holds master's and bachelor's degrees in biological systems engineering from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

"I am thrilled that Deepak is being recognized with this prestigious award for his continuous contributions to advancements in education, as well as his commitment to students and the profession," said David Jones, dean of the College of Engineering.

Keshwani continues to champion and support students at USU as the associate dean for academic programs, and he holds the rank of tenured professor in the Department of Biological Engineering.
