Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering monthly catch-up meeting. Students will be updated on various projects and upcoming events at this meeting. There will be an activity with light refreshments and an opportunity to collaborate with your peers who are also interested in Composite Materials and 3D Printing!
Landing a professional job requires more than a great resume. You also need to know how to dress and act like a professional. In this workshop we will discuss why your first impression is so important; the difference between business dress and business casual; and what to wear and not to wear to an interview. We will also learn about proper etiquette for business dinners and social gatherings.
Come join the College of Engineering Volleyball Tournament on Thursday, October 5th from 2-4 p.m.!

The Institute of Biological Engineering is kicking off our year with our first bimonthly industry tour! We will be going to visit Quansys Biosciences, a local biotechnology business that specializes in the development of immunoassays. We will meet outside the east doors of ENGR before leaving. Details about carpooling will be sent through the IBE newsletter. If you don't receive the newsletter, please contact us at email@example.com
As one of the largest events in the College of Engineering, Evening with Industry provides a networking social and dinner for students to meet with some of the most innovative companies in northern Utah. Engineering students of all majors are welcome to attend. Come join us for this amazing opportunity to interact with representatives from your favorite companies!
Come learn about the opportunities available as an undergraduate to participate in research in the College of Engineering. This event will be a job fair-type setup, where faculty and students involved in research all over the college will be available to talk about the exciting research they are involved with and answer questions about how to get involved.
Come and learn the avenues available for engaging with undergraduate research in the USU College of Engineering from Dr. Ryan Berke, who directs the Engineering Undergraduate Research Scholars program. Food will be provided.
**Team sign-up is open to the public**
Pumpkin Toss is a huge community event where teams build trebuchets and launch pumpkins across Elk Ridge Park! Build a trebuchet, or just come and watch!
The event starts at 11:00 a.m. on October 28th. There will be food trucks and booths from engineering clubs at Utah State! North Logan City will also be dropping a 300lb pumpkin onto a car from a crane!
Join us for our 5th annual intermountain conference! We will have keynote speakers, oral and poster competitions, industry mentorship, lab tours, and more! This year the event is taking place in-person at Utah State University and will provide opportunities for students, professors, and industry professionals to interact and learn.
Join us to celebrate an exciting new partnership between USU's College of Engineering and The Leonardo museum in Salt Lake City. On Nov 4, The Leonardo will welcome all USU alumni and their families to visit the museum free of charge. The College of Engineering will unveil several new exhibits showcasing exciting new research in areas of aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, biological engineering, and more.
Engineering Extravaganza Jr. is designed for 3rd-5th grade students to explore what it means to be an engineer. Students will participate in hands-on learning related to the four engineering departments at USU: Mechanical and Aerospace, Civil and Environmental, Computer and Electrical, and Biological engineering. This activity is for all students, but girls in these grades are especially encouraged to attend!
*Parents of students are required to attend for the entirety of the event.
Activity for kids: Come learn about a core building block of aerodynamics – airfoils! Airfoils are the tear-drop shape you see if you were to cut through a wing and look at the shape of the cross-section. You’ll learn about how airflow moves over an airfoil to produce lift and drag, what stall means, and other design and analysis challenges. You’ll be introduced to state-of-the-art software that is used in industry for aerodynamic analysis, and participate in a hands-on activity to make your own airfoil to take home. Presented by Dr. Doug Hunsaker.
Activity for kids: Wings are where the magic of flying happens! Come learn how airplane wings work to keep airplanes in the sky and why they look the way they look. You’ll learn about how engineers design real airplane wings and how the size, shape, and angle of a wing can affect the way airplanes fly. You’ll also be introduced to real computer software that airplane designers use to analyze the performance of wings and have a chance to build your own wing for a handheld glider. Presented by Dr. Jeff Taylor.
