Producing more energy also requires a modernized power grid. Energy engineering focuses on the production of energy using renewable and non-renewable energy sources, including conventional hydrocarbons, solar, wind, geothermal, and nuclear. Beyond production and distribution, energy engineers also design power electronics to make our electrified systems operate more efficiently. This unique degree is ideal for students who are passionate about sustainability topics and problem solving.
