Engineering Professor Awarded Hanwha Early Career Faculty Award
Juhyeong Lee, assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, has been selected as a recipient of a 2023 Hanwha Non-Tenured Faculty Award.
Lee specializes in high-performance aerospace composites and structural mechanics. He received the award from the Hanwha Advanced Materials on June 8 and will get the opportunity to teach lectures in Korea over the next two years and provide technical consultations in the fields of advanced composite materials for future mobility solutions.
Hanwha’s Non-Tenured Faculty Awards program honors North America-based assistant professors of Korean heritage with fewer than seven years of teaching experience in fields relevant to advanced materials, such as chemical engineering, chemistry, materials, and polymers. The awards are designed to cultivate an overseas R&D network, to expand the range of research and development, and to promote cooperative research and the development of technology through mutual exchange from the early stages of research.
