Earlier this month, the Utah State University section of the Society of Women Engineers received recognition for their volunteer service from the Science Unwrapped team.

This is the first time Science Unwrapped has given out certificates of appreciation for outstanding volunteer service. Both SWE and the USU chapter of Health Occupations Students of America were recognized.

“These groups have been stalwart Science Unwrapped volunteers through the years and really went above and beyond during the pandemic when we went to video activities,” said Mary-Ann Muffoletto, the public relations specialist for the USU College of Science.

An archive of SWE’s video activities can be found on the Science Unwrapped video library page.

“We are very grateful to receive the outstanding volunteer award from the College of Science, but the real award is having the opportunity to interact with the community and have them participate in activities that show them a little bit about what it’s like to be an engineer,” said Regan Tracy, USU SWE president. “We in SWE hope that our activities inspire the younger generation to pursue STEM as a career!”
