April 29, 2021

Apr 29. 2021 —USU’s College of Engineering welcomes new graduate program coordinator for the Biological Engineering Department, Lauren Shanley.

Shanley will be the main point of contact for the department. She will wear many hats in this position, serving also as a scheduler, office manager, and administrative assistant to department head Dr. Keith Roper.

Shanley received her associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in music from California State University, Chico. She moved to Logan from Seattle, Wash., with her family 14 years ago, and for the past six years, she has worked in several staff positions at Utah State: first in the History Department and most recently in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership. Shanley has also worked as an adjunct vocal faculty at the university for the past three and half years.

“I am a singer! I have performed eight seasons locally with the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre in their opera productions, but my last show was two years ago with Cache Theatre Company doing ‘Mamma Mia’! I have taught private voice and piano lessons for about 25 years.”

The College of Engineering’s faculty, staff, and students welcome Shanley and are excited for the energy and expertise she will bring to the position.
