Our research focuses on understanding and harnessing metastable structures in complex concentrated alloys (CCAs) through accelerated materials design and non-equilibrium processing for energy, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and other extreme-environment applications.

A strong academic record and exceptional self-motivation are essential for admission consideration. Previous research experience and/or a bachelor/master's degree in physical metallurgy, materials science, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field are desirable but not required for Ph.D. admission. Applicants are encouraged to provide additional evidence demonstrating their research potential, technical abilities, and commitment to graduate study.
