Biography

Dr. Luguang Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Engineering. Prior to joining USU, he was a postdoc fellow at The Johns Hopkins University and a research associate at Oregon State University.

Teaching Interests

Downstream processing, SolidWorks, Environmental microbiology.

Research Interests

Dr. Luguang Wang has diverse research interests and experiences in engineering bioelectrochemical systems for a sustainable future. He is particularly interested in
1) Hydrogen production from waste streams coupled with electricity storage using bioelectrochemical systems;
2) Management of agricultural waste for energy (methane) generation and production of alternative animal feed proteins;
3) Modeling, optimization, and operation of biological systems using machine learning algorithms.
