"Utah has one of the highest concentrations of advanced materials and manufacturing companies in the nation, employing more than 10,000 residents. Graduates seeking to join the field are already at an advantage with the training USU provides," said Greg Anderson, Director of CDMAM. "The lineup of esteemed speakers for this upcoming symposium reflects our commitment to fostering innovation and expertise in this rapidly evolving field."

Keynote speakers include:

  • Dr. Robert Yancy, Business Development Director of Hexcel Corporation
  • Dr. Ben Garcia, Executive Director of the Miller Advanced Research & Solution (MARS) Center at Weber State University
  • Dr. Jerome Berg, Research & Development Manager of Northrop Grumman
  • Dr. Tulina Larsen, Executive Director of the Utah Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Initiative (UAMMI)

The symposium registration fee includes breakfast, lunch and a special tour of the Space Dynamics Lab. Registration is $40 for professionals and free for students and faculty. For a full schedule and outline of discussions, visit the CDMAM event registration homepage.

Since its inception a year and a half ago, CDMAM has been instrumental in supporting individuals pursuing a master's degree in composites and advanced materials, a program exclusive to USU. The center boasts a scholarship endowment fund, a diverse range of materials for hands-on learning and a roster of experienced guest lecturers.
