Engineers To Celebrate Engineers Week Nationwide

The College of Engineering will join universities across the nation to celebrate the annual Engineers week— four days full of events, activities and educational fun.

The theme this year is Creating the Future. It will take place Feb. 21 through Feb. 24.

The Engineering Council and clubs across the college will host their own events ranging from a soldering workshop put on by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a trivia night for author Brandon Sanderson to the annual cardboard boat races. Community night will also be returning to provide outreach and hands-on fun to the families in Cache Valley.

“Engineers Week helps me remember why I chose engineering,” said USUSA Engineering Senator Allison Bernhardt. “It gives me a chance to participate in fun activities, bond with my classmates and continue to learn in a fun environment!”

Bernhardt is involved in several aspects of Engineers week including planning and execution. She has participated in the events both as a planner and a participant over the last three years.

“A lot of work goes into planning and putting on these events and the best part is getting to see people enjoy them,” Bernhardt said. “I can’t wait!”
