Aggies Help Shield Front-Line Workers

October 16, 2020

Oct. 16, 2020 — Engineering students teamed up with the Center for Persons with Disabilities to make face shields. The headband and ear pieces are 3-D printed. The shield portion is an overhead projector transparency sheet. The resulting design is lightweight and comfortable. Students in the Idea Factory used 3-D printers and a computerized router to make the headband portion. In total, the College of Engineering provided 410 face shields.

Mechanical engineering students Barak Stephens and Ethan Bjornn helped make 3-D printed face shield components for health care professionals.
