USU at The Leonardo: Airfoils

Activity for kids: Come learn about a core building block of aerodynamics – airfoils! Airfoils are the tear-drop shape you see if you were to cut through a wing and look at the shape of the cross-section. You’ll learn about how airflow moves over an airfoil to produce lift and drag, what stall means, and other design and analysis challenges. You’ll be introduced to state-of-the-art software that is used in industry for aerodynamic analysis, and participate in a hands-on activity to make your own airfoil to take home. Presented by Dr. Doug Hunsaker.
