Landing a professional job requires more than a great resume. You also need to know how to dress and act like a professional. In this workshop we will discuss why your first impression is so important; the difference between business dress and business casual; and what to wear and what not to wear to interviews. We will also learn about proper etiquette for business dinners and social gatherings.

World Mental Health Day 2022
Special Event
Approximately 47 million (nearly 1 in 5) American adults are experiencing a mental health illness. In conjunction with its Aggies Thrive initiative, the Office of Human Resources has partnered with Campus Recreation for USU’s participation in World Mental Health Day on Monday, October 10, 2022. We are thrilled with the variety of activities that have been planned and encourage everyone to participate in some way. All activities will have in person and virtual options. USU SWE is proud to announce the 14th Annual Evening With Industry networking social. This event begins with a networking fair where students will meet with representatives from leading companies in engineering. Following the fair, a professional dinner will allow attendees to network one-on-one with a company of their choice.

Beyond the Classroom: Getting Involved in Research

Presented by Dr. Ryan Berke Undergraduate Research is a great way to show technical experience, build scientific communication skills, and prepare for graduate school. USU has the second oldest undergraduate research program in the country, and in 2020 was also rated the best program by the National Council for Undergraduate Research. Come learn the basics: What is Research? Is undergraduate research right for me? And how do I get involved?

Pumpkin Toss
Student Activities
The Pumpkin Toss is one of ASME’s biggest events of the year! Teams build trebuchets and compete as they launch pumpkins across the field and try to hit targets such as pianos, trampolines, fridges, furniture, and whatever else North Logan City can find! Hundreds of people from the community come to watch and enjoy the food trucks and other booths that will be there. Joining a team is easy! Sponsors help provide supplies, and the ASME Council can help along the way.
FE Mechanics of Fluids Review

Come and SOAK UP an OUTPOURING of fluids knowledge in preparation for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam! The FE Preparation workshop series will focus on preparing all MAE, BE, and CEE students to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam near the end of their degree. In this workshop, we will cover fluid properties, flow measurement, fluid statics, and the energy, impulse, and momentum of fluids.
