Landing a professional job requires more than a great resume. You also need to know how to dress and act like a professional. In this workshop we will discuss why your first impression is so important; the difference between business dress and business casual; and what to wear and not to wear to an interview. We will also learn about proper etiquette for business dinners and social gatherings.

Come join the College of Engineering Volleyball Tournament on Thursday, October 5th from 2-4 p.m.!
Register your team of 6 people to compete in a bracket-style tournament. Teams from each engineering department (MAE, CEE, ECE, and BENG) will compete against each other to determine the best team in each department. Those teams will compete in the Semifinals and Finals where the winning team will be crowned the best in volleyball and receive a prize!

Pumpkin Toss is a huge community event where teams build trebuchets and launch pumpkins across Elk Ridge Park! Build a trebuchet, or just come and watch!
The event starts at 11:00 a.m. on October 28th. There will be food trucks and booths from engineering clubs at Utah State! North Logan City will also be dropping a 300lb pumpkin onto a car from a crane!

SpaceBots Competition Kickoff with SDL and ASME

An information session for the SpaceBots Competition hosted by SDL and USU ASME. Students are presented with a malfunctioning satellite, and are required to design a robotic arm capable of fixing it! The competition lasts throughout the school year with various design review deadlines. The final competition is in June. Winners will receive cash prizes! This competition is a great opportunity for students to work closely with SDL as well as apply their courses to a real-life problem.

Activity for kids: Come learn about a core building block of aerodynamics – airfoils! Airfoils are the tear-drop shape you see if you were to cut through a wing and look at the shape of the cross-section. You’ll learn about how airflow moves over an airfoil to produce lift and drag, what stall means, and other design and analysis challenges. You’ll be introduced to state-of-the-art software that is used in industry for aerodynamic analysis, and participate in a hands-on activity to make your own airfoil to take home. Wings: Wings are where the magic of flying happens! Come learn how airplane wings work to keep airplanes in the sky and why they look the way they look.
