The data collection computer is connected to the embedded controller via an RS-232 serial interface. The data collection computer acquires image data from the CMOS camera via an IEEE1394 (Firewire) interface. The embedded controller connects to the CMOS camera through a camera strobe cable. It also has additional connections to the existing CHARTS system. The first is a One Pulse Per Second (1PPS) signal which is generated by the Applanix POS AV IMU once every second. The second is an RS-232 serial interface which is used to transmit GPS time data coinciding with each 1PPS pulse.
