Welcome to Banerji Materials and Structures Research Group's website!

Banerji Research Group concentrates on enhancing resiliency, durability, and sustainability of civil infrastructure by characterizing the performance of construction materials (primarily cementitious materials and concretes), assessing the behavior of structural members under extreme loadings (fire), and developing methods to safeguard and strengthen civil infrastructure (retrofitting and structural health monitoring).

Banerji Research Group is led by Dr. Srishti Banerji, who is an Assistant Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Utah State University since August 2022. Prior to joining Utah State University, Dr. Banerji was a Teaching Faculty at Michigan State University. Dr. Banerji holds a Ph.D. in Civil (Structural) Engineering from Michigan State University, U.S., M.S. in Civil (Structural) Engineering from Concordia University, Canada, and B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology Silchar, India. She is a member on ASCE/SEI Fire Protection Committee and Associate Member on ACI committees, including ACI 216: Fire Resistance and Fire Protection of Structures, ACI 239: Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC), ACI 239 F: UHPC Sustainability and ACI 242: Alternative Cements.

Banerji research group strongly intends to foster an inclusive, equitable, diverse, and enthusiastic learning and research environment. If you are interested in joining our team at Utah State University, please go through the Opportunities section! Utah State University is one of only 146 research institutions in the U.S. classified as R1 "very high research activity" by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The main campus is located in beautiful Logan, Utah, and is situated in a picturesque mountain valley about 80 miles north of Salt Lake City.
