Therapeutics

Multiple Test tubes sitting on a scale

The primary therapeutics researched at SWBEC are phycocyanins, a therapeutic with many uses, and meso-biliviverdin, a product biosimilar to biliverdin-Ix, derived from algae. We derive these products primarily from biofilm reactors, though we can partner these biofilm reactors with anaerobic digesters to handle higher nutrient waste streams.
