About our Facility

The City of Logan wastewater treatment facility consists of a 460-acre facultative lagoon system that treats an average of 14 million gallons per day of a typically weak strength wastewater with influent average total phosphorus concentration of approximately 4.5 mg/L and ammonia concentrations that range from 10 to 20 mg/L. Wastewater from the treatment facility will be used as a non-potable water source for algae production for the RABR test units and pilot scale open pond raceway reactors. The system supplies enough wastewater to scale the algae productivity system to any scale desired for testing, and is one of the largest municipal facultative lagoon systems in the nation.
