The primary plastic SWBEC has researched and produced is polyhydorxybutyrate (PHB). PHB is a versatile polymer and is biodegradable. We primarily use biofilm reactors to produce PHB, and we’ve been able to extract it from both bacterial and algal sources in both isolated and mixed culture environments.
