Study Recommendations

It is recommended to focus on Chapters 4-7, 9-11, 13, 14, 18, 21-23, 25, and 26. In addition, you are expected to do basic indefinite and definite integrations. As you study, pay attention to the underlying assumptions, convergence criteria, and computational complexity of the numerical methods. Students are encouraged to focus on textbook sections and examples that teach fundamentals of the underlying numerical methods, and pseudocode design for implementing these methods. Sections that teach use of software packages (e.g., MATLAB, MS excel) should receive less attention.
