USU’s GEAR UP team attended the Utah Governor’s Energy Summit in Salt Lake City on May 30, 2019 to demonstrate their dynamic wireless charging Green Power race car. During their demonstration Rick Perry, US Secretary of Energy, made a surprise visit and talked with the team about their research and project. Secretary Perry was the keynote speaker at the Energy Summit. Team members who met with Secretary Perry include Abhilash Kamineni, Benny Varghese, Ryan Bohm, Whitney Despain, and john Mermigas.
