You’ve accomplished something extraordinary. By persevering through years of challenging work and training, you have earned one of the most versatile and valuable college degrees. In the last few months, you have shown tremendous agility in navigating an unprecedented public health crisis while completing a rigorous academic program and senior capstone requirements. You overcame this difficult hurdle, demonstrating the highest level of dedication and professionalism and accomplishing what no other class has done before. With your education and skillset from the College of Engineering, you are uniquely qualified to take on what comes next. You will enter an engineering workforce that is markedly different, and you will face new and complex engineering challenges to benefit society. To each of you, we offer our warmest congratulations and best wishes for an incredibly bright future ahead. Congratulations. Go, Aggies!

Thomas Bradshaw

– Thomas Bradshaw
class of 2020 Valedictorian

Thomas grew up in Gorham, Maine. He’s a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, which he maintained for four years with a 4.0 GPA. Thomas has interned with Sandia National Laboratory and IBM. For his academic excellence, research experience, internships, and work experience, he was named the 2019-2020 Electrical and Computer Engineering Outstanding Senior. He has been a member and leader of Engineering Council for four years and most recently served as president of Engineering Council. He has reorganized the leadership and financial structures of the council, implemented new training for council leadership, and oversaw all sponsored activities and events including the annual Engineers Week celebration. Thomas has also served as an Engineering Ambassador and as vice president of the USU collegiate chapter of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers, known as IEEE.
