CEE Welcomes Four New Faculty

Sept. 16, 2020 — The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University is excited to welcome four new faculty, including three new assistant professors and one new professor.

Dr. Brady Cox

Dr. Brady Cox is a professor specializing in geotechnical engineering. He received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Utah State University and a doctorate from the University of Texas. His research and teaching interests include foundation design, geotechnical earthquake engineering and soil mechanics.

Dr. Kyle Moor

Dr. Kyle Moor is an assistant professor specializing in environmental engineering. He received a bachelor’s from Virginia Tech and master’s and doctorate from Yale University. His research and teaching interests include chemical processes in environmental engineering and applying chemistry principles to tackle environmental challenges.

Dr. Shuna Ni

Dr. Shuna Ni is an assistant professor specializing in structures. She received a bachelor’s from Central South University, master’s from Tongji University and doctorate from Texas A&M. Her research and teaching interests include engineering mechanics and improving the resilience of the built environment to fire and fire-related hazards at the building and community level.

Dr. Colin Phillips

Dr. Colin Phillips is an assistant professor specializing in water resources engineering. He received a bachelor’s from University of California, Berkeley and doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. His research and teaching interests include earth surface processes, water and sediment and hydrology.
