BE Students Engage with Industry Leaders at Virtual Conference
Nov. 9, 2020 — The Biological Engineering Department hosted its third annual Intermountain Biological Conference on Oct. 30 and 31. This year’s theme was Biological Engineering’s Impact on Public Health. Featured speakers came from industry partners and government agencies. The event was held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions. For the poster session, students were required to submit a video explaining their research along with a digital poster.

The Biological Engineering Department hosted its third annual Intermountain Biological Conference on Oct. 30 and 31.
On Oct. 30, participants heard from to Mr. Abraham Verdoes from ELITechGroup, Mr. Jason Brown from Thermo Fisher Scientific and Mr. Brad Hansen of WesTech Engineering. On Saturday, sessions began with Dr. Jeff Ostermiller from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality followed by Ms. Kristen Sims of WesTech. Posters were judged by Dr. Chih-Hu Ho of Fresenius Medical, Dr. Dustin McEwen of GE Healthcare, Dr. Christopher Fox of the Infectious Disease Research Institute, Dr. Andrew Nelson, Mr. ChesLee Call of Quansys Biosciences and Mr. Brad Hansen of WesTech.
The Biological Engineering Department thanks all attendees, presenters and judges who made the conference a success and a benefit to all who participated.
