Nov. 12, 2018 — USU’s College of Engineering welcomes new academic advising center staff assistant Madeline Walker. She will play an important role in managing the day-to-day operations of one of USU’s most active student advising programs.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Walker is a USU alumna who holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies. She also holds a minor degree in music and professional training in gerontology. Her talents include playing piano and flute.

Walker brings a unique perspective to the college thanks to her experience working with people of all ages. “I have worked with older adults, college students and children of all ages,” she said.

In addition to managing the advising center operations and student staff, Walker will also coordinate the college’s annual commencement events and ceremonies, a task she’s looking forward to.

“Working in engineering is a great experience because I get to work with a wide variety of amazing people and get to learn something new every day,” she said. “I love my job.”

Walker recently married and is enjoying life in Cache Valley. Her family is also embracing the Utah State University culture.

“Even though my parents both attended Brigham Young University in Provo, we have all become true Aggie fans,” she said.
