College of Engineering Welcomes New Engineering Technician

July 27, 2018 — USU’s College of Engineering welcomes Hal Chugg as the new professional engineering technician. Chugg will play an important role in overseeing student operations across the school’s fabrication facilities. His primary role will be in assisting senior design teams and other student groups in the Idea Factory and Student Prototyping Lab which is currently undergoing major renovations.

Chugg brings more than 30 years of experience to the job. He has an extensive background in metal fabrication and machining practices.

He is originally from Providence, Utah, and now lives in Weston, Idaho. He is married and has three children including a daughter who attends USU. The family enjoys spending time together in the outdoors. Chugg says he’s looking forward to digging into projects with students.

“I’m looking forward to learning new things here at USU and sharing my knowledge and experience with others.”
