October 25, 2018
Published in Utah State Engineer — Oct. 25 2018 — Today’s engineering students need a foundation of technical knowledge and advanced training in design and problem solving.
To meet the growing demand of talented professional engineers who are prepared to work in the 21st-century marketplace, we’ve implemented a brand new design and fabrication facility called the Metal Factory.
Quick Facts:
- 7,300-square-foot design and fabrication facility for all engineering students
- Resurfaces concrete floors, new lighting, upgraded entrance and new conference room
- Upgraded equipment including plasma cutter, band saws, downdraft table and new welding area
This modernized space is equipped with the latest fabrication tools and staffed with a veteran engineering technician, Hal Chugg, who will guide student capstone projects from conception to realization.
