Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Graduate Programs

"In MAE, our success is measured by your success."

MAE offers MS and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. MS students have three plan options: thesis, report, or coursework only, and PhDs may start from a bachelor's or a master's degree.  The faculty of the MAE department  each have a vigorous research program and are always searching for excellent graduate students to join their group.  If you are interested in working one-on-one with one of our faculty on an MS thesis or PhD dissertation, please pursue the faculty research pages on this site. If you have any questions, we encourage you to make an appointment with our graduate program coordinator or to simply contact us.

Thinking about an MS?

Whether you have recently graduated or are currently in an undergraduate degree in engineering, you should consider pursuing your master's. Pursuing a master's degree could show your future employers that you are ready to handle a technical leadership role in their organization. Not only could it open opportunities for you professionally, but it will increase your earning potential in an already competitive marketplace.

Thinking about a PhD?

Our PhD students benefit from the opportunity to do research with excellent faculty. While a BS or an MS focuses on what is already known, a PhD helps you to discover new things. If you're looking for a research role in a company or any job that will require a specific set of expertise in R&D, a PhD is absolutely essential.
