What is Computer Science?
Computer scientists create software applications and systems for a wide range of uses in our daily lives, including anything from the software used in schools, banks, and hospitals to mobile applications, computer games, navigation systems, robots, dynamic websites, the software that keeps satellites in space, and to issues of national security. Computer scientists create the software that engineers rely on to design and build just about everything such as dams, buildings, electronic circuits, computer chips, airplanes, bioreactors, synthetic organisms. Indeed, virtually all businesses, industry and government organizations rely heavily on people capable of working in software.
Students with a degree in Computer Science from Utah State University have careers in all areas of the computing industry.
