Smart Hanger

Project

Many closets are overcrowded and dark making it difficult to find the clothes you are looking for. Through LEDs, pressure sensors, and Bluetooth communication the Smart Hanger can notify a user exactly where the clothing they are searching for is located.

Methods

I Integrated a microcontroller which allowed reading for different weights and relaying Bluetooth communication to a cell phone.

Conclusion

The Smart Hanger was able to successfully interpret different clothing weights, receive input from the user’s smart phone and sort based on the information received.

• In the future I would further my insight into simultaneous connection between the Smart Hangers and one controlling device.
• I learned how to successfully interpret weight readings and wireless data communication.
• If I were to continue this project I would create multiple hangers that would communicate with one another, thereby creating an entire set for a closet.
