Task

When to Complete

1. Discuss Program Plan with Temporary Advisor

Beginning of 1st  semester

2. Submit Supervisory Committee Form

End of 1st semester

3. Submit Departmental Check Sheet

End of 1st semester

4. Submit Program of Study Form

End of 1st semester

5. MS Plan A and B - Submit Signed Proposal

End of 2nd semester

6. MS Plan A and B - Pick up copy of “Publication Guide for Graduate Students” from the bookstore or online and check with Mary Lee for departmental guidelines. LATEX or IEEE format must be used.

Before you begin writing thesis/report

7. Submit Thesis to Committee

At least 4 weeks prior to defense

8. Schedule Defense and Submit Appointment for Examination Form

At least 13-15 working days prior to defense

9. Turn in Alumni Card with Photo and Placement Survey Form

No later than day of defense

10. Submit completed thesis or report to department reviewer - Mary Lee.  (Allow at least one week for review.) She checks for FORMAT ONLY– it is your responsibility to proof for grammar and spelling before submitting it to her. Clearance form must be signed by major professor before review.

After defense

11. MS - Plan A - Submit department approved thesis to Graduate School.

Reserve processing date

12. MS - Plan A - CD of final draft must be submitted to Mary Lee.

When thesis is approved

13. MS - Plan A - Submit three copies of approved thesis to library for binding and pay binding and microfilming fees.

When thesis is signed by Dean of Graduate School

14. MS - Plan B - CD of final draft must be submitted to Mary Lee. All paper work must be completed before letter of completion can be sent to Graduate School.

When report is approved by ECE Department

15. MS - Plan B - Submit two copies of approved report to library for binding and pay binding fees.  Take receipt to Graduate School.

When report is approved by ECE Department

16. Turn in graduation forms to Graduate School and check with them before leaving Logan to make sure all requirements are met.
