Biography

Greg Crane leads the GE Healthcare global engineering team for the cell culture business operating out of the Logan, Utah facility, and this June he celebrated his 30-year milestone in the General Electric Company. Greg currently provides engineering leadership and technical support for the cell culture sites in Logan Utah, Pasching Austria, Tuas Singapore, and Tauranga New Zealand. Greg and his family moved to Logan in 2014 to lead the HyClone® integration and carve out acquisition ($1.1B) from Thermo-Fisher Scientific. Prior to that, Greg spent 8 years in the greater GE Healthcare businesses in and around the greater Milwaukee Wisconsin region. He had various roles in service engineering technology, quality management, and supply chain strategy across a variety of the medical device modalities (Cardiac Ultrasound, X-ray & Interventional imaging, Diagnostic Cardiology, and Magnetic Resonance).

Greg graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a manufacturing engineering degree and holds an MBA from Bellarmine University in Louisville KY. He has held various positions (Chairperson, treasurer, etc.) in the society of manufacturing engineers (SME) and is active in shaping our future in manufacturing technology. Greg is a certified six sigma master black belt and has several issued patents. Most recently, Greg developed an engineering management course to address the gaps in graduate readiness and he is currently teaching this material as an adjunct professor to the USU undergrad and graduate engineering population.

Greg enjoys cycling, hiking, and skiing with his family. Greg, his wife Maria, and their daughter Olive live in Logan Utah.
