“Transportation Innovation for Utah and the World”
TIMELab is the home of Dr Ziqi Song's research group at Utah State University. The Utah Department of Transportation uses TIMELab as a launching point for Intelligent Transportation Systems applications in Cache Valley. TIMELab activities help UDOT combat increasing congestion and negative safety and environmental effects of our transportation systems. It is envisioned that TIMELab will be a leader in the implementation and evaluation of rural Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and provide guidance to the implementation of ITS throughout the rural parts of Utah and the intermountain west.
Facilities

The TIMELab is located in on campus at USU. The lab benefits from a direct connection to the UDOT Traffic Operations Center in Salt Lake City and a six panel visualization wall that provides great flexibility to view data and traffic phenomenon. The lab provides TIMELab researchers with platforms to conduct simulation using Paramics and VISSIM.
Connected with UDOT

The investment (from University, Public, and Private sources) in infrastructure that supports this facility is significant. A fiber optic connection to the Interstate 15 fiber provides USU researchers with the data necessary to conduct any type traffic operations research in the state.
