Jing Zhang, PhD


Dr. Jing Zhang earned his Bachelor and Master degree in Materials Science in Tsinghua University, China. He obtained his PhD degree in Materials Science and Nanoengineering from Prof. Jun Lou’s group at Rice University in 2016. He has been working as a postdoc in the same group since then. His past research includes the synthesis of 1D and 2D materials, as well as exploration of their electrochemical applications. His current research interests are exploring and applying innovative material design strategy, such as bio-mimicking and material hybridization, to develop materials and devices for next-generation electrochemical catalysts, sensors and bio-artificial interfaces, eventually contributing to the solutions to the critical challenges in the fields of energy, environment and health.
