Biomanufacturing Master’s Program
Our Master of Science in Biomanufacturing is a two-year, fully online program designed to equip you with the essential, industry-relevant skills needed to excel in the rapidly evolving biomanufacturing sector. Catering to working professionals, our program offers the flexibility needed to balance education with a career and goes beyond traditional academics with a curriculum developed alongside our industry partners. We welcome all applicants with a STEM background who are ready to advance their careers.
Program Structure
The Biomanufacturing master’s program coursework is entirely online, two-year with total 30 credits, consisting of 18 credits of general courses, 3 credits of one of four specialization tracks, 3 credits of lab exercise, and 6 credits of internships. Our instructors have over 6 years of industry experience in the Biomanufacturing industry and will be integrating the curriculum with essential technical skills such as, operation of fermentors and bioreactors, SOP writing, quality assurance, process optimization and more.

Participants in the program will also participate in a one-time 2-week onsite lab training (3 cr.) during the two-year program where hands on experience will be provided in either microbial fermentation or mammalian cell culture.
An internship experience (6 cr.) will also be provided during the program at one of our industry partners to provide hands-on experience working in industry and applying the concepts learned during the coursework and lab.
Industry partners
This online Biomanufacturing M.S. program will provide experience interacting with industry partners in a variety of areas. Our industry partners will provide subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver guest lectures, provide optional internships opportunities to students, facility tours and feedback relating to program development and course work. We have partners in each specialization track that will provide expertise in each area (e.g. Cytiva, Thermo Fisher Scientfic, DisCGenics).

Applicant Requirements
Applicants must meet all the following:
- A current or prospective College Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in a life science or engineering-related field
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Provide transcripts of all college/university credits
- Three letters of recommendation from professors, research supervisors, or professional mentors
- A statement of purpose outlining your background, career goals, and motivation for applying
- A resume or CV highlighting academic achievements, relevant coursework, industry experience, research, and internships

As the MS in Biomanufacturing is currently undergoing USHE R401 approval, applicants are encouraged to apply to the Master’s in Biological Engineering program for entry through Fall Semester 2026.
