Frequently asked questions about EWI

Q: What do I do if the event is sold out?

A: Save the date for October 2018, when we will hold our next Evening with Industry!
In the meantime, to get advance registration. Anyone can join! We've had men as officers.

Q: What is Evening with Industry?

A: A networking social followed by dinner. When you register, pick the top 5 companies you'd like to meet with during the networking social. We'll assign you to 3. You are guaranteed a seat at a dinner table with the company you select for dinner. Registration for dinner tables is first-come, first-served.

Q: What companies are coming and who should I meet with?

A: Click here to read a blurb about each company and the majors of students they are interested in meeting with. More companies may be added to this list.

Q: Is it only for women?

A: NO! Evening with Industry welcomes ALL students. It is just organized by the Society of Women Engineers.

Q: When can I register?

A: Registration starts October 2nd and ends when we run out of tickets.

Q: When is Evening with Industry?

A: Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 5:30 pm sharp. Arrive by 5:15 to check in and find your companies. Please arrive on time.

Q: Where is it?

A: Riverhead's Conference Center, located at 615 Riverwood Pkwy, Logan, UT. It takes 7 minutes to drive there from the Engineering building.

Q: Is transportation provided?

A: SWE will provide a bus that you can ride that will depart from campus at 5 pm SHARP.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: $5 for registered SWE members and $10 for other students. This is a GREAT deal just for the fancy dinner!

Q: How do I join SWE?

Q: How do I prepare for Evening with Industry?

A: Attend the prep workshop on Tuesday, October 10, 4:30-5:30pm in ENGR 103.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Yourself, properly dressed, and copies of your resume if you want to give it to companies. You do NOT need to bring a paper ticket or receipt - we'll have a name badge for you.

Q: Where do I send my resume for the gold sponsor companies?

A: Email a PDF of your resume to with 'EWI Resume' in the subject line by midnight on Friday, October 13th.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Business formal dress. Come to the prep workshop for help.

Q: Why isn't my dream company coming?

A: Tell us in the event feedback form if there's a company you'd like to meet with at our next Evening with Industry. If you know someone at that company whom we can contact, there is a much higher chance that they will respond to our invitation. If we've already contacted them, feel free to convince them that they should attend!
