Remote Printing Walkthrough
This is a walkthrough of how to install the drivers necessary to use remote printing in the engineering open access lab. During this process you will download and install drivers onto your own personal computer. To download these drivers you will need to go to the remote printing client download page here. When you get to the website scroll down to the Engineering (Engr 305) section and select the appropriate drivers for your specific computer.

A pop up bar will appear at the bottom of your screen. Select the downward arrow by “Save” and select “Save as”

A pop up window will appear asking where you want to save the file. Select the “Desktop” tab and click “Save”

Minimize all programs until you can see your desktop. Double click on the EngineeringLabPrinters…. file to start the install for the printer drivers.
A User Account Control screen may pop up asking for permission to make some changes. Click “Yes”. Then the installer will pop up with a license agreement. If you accept it click “Accept”. If not click “Cancel” and abort the install.

Click “Install” to begin the installation.

The install may take a few minutes to complete. After it is completed click “Finish”.

Then when you go to print your document select either the “Engineering Lab Black” printer or the “Engineering Lab Color” printer to print. Please only use the color printer when the file you wish to print has color on it. When you click “Print” after you have selected which printer you want to use a pop up screen will ask you for a username, a file name, and a password. The username, file name, and password are to be created by you and they can be anything. They will only be used for the specific printout. You are not required to remember the username, file name, and password after you have printed your file. You may use them again with another printout but it is not required.

After you type in a username, a file name, and a password come up to the print station located at the lab consultant’s desk and swipe your student ID card. You must have your student ID card. We cannot put in your A number. After you swipe your card select your print order on the screen and click “Print”.

The lab consultant will then collect your printout from the printer and will charge you for the printout made. The cost of the printout that is posted on the print station is not correct. The consultants will inform you how much your printouts will cost. The cost for printouts is the campus standard:
| Black and White | Color | |
| Single Sided | $0.07 | $0.25 |
| Double Sided | $0.10 | $0.40 |
