The selected College Undergraduate Researcher of the Year will be put forward as the nominee for the University Undergraduate Researcher of the Year, or the Peak Prize. Students who receive this award are recognized during USU's annual Research Week at the Student Showcase. An Undergraduate Researcher of the Year will also be chosen to receive a Robins Award from the University.

Undergraduate Scholarship Committee nominates the person to the Dean's Office by Jan. 23, 2013-Due to VPR office Jan. 28

Graduate Mentor of the Year

Faculty active in research

The Graduate Mentor Award recognizes faculty excellence in the process of mentoring graduate students to prepare them for careers. Those nominated should be effective advisors who facilitate degree completion, model sound scholarship and ethical behavior, help students understand and benefit from departmental and university resources, provide emotional support, offer constructive criticisms and involve students in publishing and other professional activities. The award is presented at the Graduate Commencement and Hooding Ceremony each year. The recipient of the award is given a prize of $2,000 and is invited to prepare a brief essay about his or her mentoring experiences that is shared with the university community.

Nominations should be directly submitted to the Graduate School. Awards made at the Graduate Commencement Nominations due December 14, 2012

College Undergraduate Research Mentor

Faculty active in undergraduate research The College winner is put forward for The University Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year Award. To qualify for the award, faculty members must demonstrate a sustained record of mentoring undergraduates in research projects, working with students to disseminate the results through professional meetings or publications, and having an impact on students' careers as they move to graduate school or employment. An Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year will also be chosen to receive a Robins Award from the University. Individual departmental nomination package must be submitted to the Dean’s Office by January 23, 2013 Due to VPR office Jan. 28, 2013

College Faculty Advisor of the Year

Undergraduate faculty advisors

The Faculty Advisor of the Year Award is given each year to recognize and emphasize excellence in academic advising. Other teaching and scholarly activities may become a consideration in the selection process, but the main emphasis will be on excellence in academic advising as judged by faculty and students. The dean is to appoint a committee with students, faculty, and administrative representation to select an outstanding advisor from the college. The Faculty Evaluation Committee then selects a "Faculty Advisor of the Year" from the eight college level nominees. This person is recognized at the annual Robins Awards Committee and receives a $1,000 award.

College Scholar of the Year

Graduating senior (fall or spring)

The College Scholar is nominated to the University Scholar award. The Scholar of the Year Award is given each year to recognize and emphasize excellence in scholarship. Other service and student activity involvement may become a consideration in the selection process, but the main emphasis will be on scholarly achievement. The Robins Award Committee will then appoint a committee to select the "Scholar of the Year" from the eight college nominees. The person is recognized at the annual Robins Award. The nominee should be receiving a bachelor's degree at this year's commencement exercises.

Award nomination process will be handled by Associate Dean and will begin in January after student grades are processed for Fall Semester an  e-mail will be sent to start this process Link
Outstanding Senior & Student Legacy Award Robins  Faculty

The Legacy of Utah State Award is given each year to recognize and emphasize a student who represents the heart and soul of the university. Students should show a commitment to the institution and their program of study, as well as demonstrate internal involvement and service, department dedication, perseverance during times of adversity, and contribution behind the scenes. The dean is to appoint a committee with students, faculty, and administrative representation to select an average, but committed student from each college. The Robins Awards Committee will then appoint a committee to select the winner of the "Legacy of Utah State Award" from the eight college nominees. The person is recognized at the annual Robins Awards.

University Eldon J Gardner Teacher of the Year

The Eldon J. Gardner Teacher of the Year Award is given each year to recognize and emphasize excellence in teaching. Other scholarly activity such as research and publication records may become a consideration in the selection process, but the main emphasis will be on teaching excellence as judged by faculty and students. The dean is to appoint a committee with students, faculty, and administrative representation to select an outstanding teacher from the college. The Faculty Evaluation Committee then selects the Eldon J. Gardner Teacher of the Year from the eight college level nominees. This person is recognized at the annual Robins Award and receives a $2,000 award

Department Teaching Excellence Award University Department initiative

The Department Teaching Excellence Award recognizes department cultures that meaningfully value learning excellence. This annual award, instituted in 2002-2003, awards a one-time $20,000 addition to the budget of the department selected for the award. The award selection committee consists of faculty, students, administrators, and a member of the Board of Trustees
